Marvin Wang showed genius tendencies as a boy, with a rich imagination and flare for creative painting. Under his father’s influence, an architect, Marvin fell in love with design, but chose instead to study fashion at art college, then working as a label fashion designer and director. In 2013 he founded his own womenswear label “REELOP”, which launched online in 2014. He prefers to use natural materials, such as cotton, ramie, silk, and wool, to represent the balance between human and nature. In his creations, fabrics are cut in minimal patterns to emphasise texture and strong contrasts, which sparks the imagination of all those who wear them.
