Designer Gene Kagan began playing with fabrics at the tender age of 12, crafting his first dress out of his mother’s drapes. Born and raised in Latvia, Gene moved to Los Angeles during his teenage years and later went on to study at L.A.’s Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. His casual-cool sportswear brand Lola & Sophie is manufactured entirely in New York City, where Gene resides and oversees every detail of each collection.
